Along the way, he published an e-zine out of his duffel bag. It’s an interesting way to see the country, and it brought him to the attention of David Letterman.
Thing is, Pete didn’t really want to appear on TV. His friend did, though, so Jess Hilliard appeared on the David Letterman show as Dishwasher Pete. When Letterman’s producers found out they’d been fooled, they were not amused.
